Detox Tea

 

This tea reduces inflammation. It has become my favorite tea since I really feel the effects of the tea on my body.

This tea is powerful for several reasons. One of the most straightforward is temperature. Think about how we clean things. Heat opens up the channels inside our bodies for more efficient removal of waste. 

We want blood to flow to our digestive tract, to help facilitate healthy and efficient digestion and carry out waste easily. This is what warm liquids accomplish, by opening up channels and encouraging flow. So keep drinking that warm tea!

It isn’t just the warmth that benefits. Another reason the tea is so powerful is the particular spices it contains. Cumin, coriander, and fennel are three of the most powerful spices for stimulating the digestion, increasing the metabolism, and waking up a dull and sluggish gut to get things moving again.

Cumin is an ancient remedy for indigestion, gas, and other digestive issues. It includes potent antioxidants and iron, as well as fiber, and it stimulates the enzymes in the body that facilitate good digestion. Studies have shown that cumin also soothes inflamed mucous membranes in the digestive tract and improves bowel function.

Coriander is a digestive aid with a delicious nutty taste, and its properties are enhanced by heat. Coriander relieves gas, indigestion and it reduces inflammation.

Fennel is a remedy for irritable bowel syndrome, and other painful digestive issues because it relaxes the smooth muscle in the digestive tract. It’s also good for relieving excess gas and indigestion and encouraging the body to burn fat. It is also great for women having hormonal issues, and it also tends to suppress excessive appetite in a balanced way.

Tip: when you have a bad breath, you can chew on fennel seeds instead of chewing gum.

METHOD:

Boil 4 to 5 cups of water in a pot. As the water is heating, add the following to the pot:

  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon coriander seeds
  • ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
