Healthy Eating in Shoreditch, London

 

Dishoom is a small group of Indian cafés/restaurants initially based in London, England. The first café opened in Covent Garden in 2010. As of 2019, there are seven cafes open around the United Kingdom, with locations in London, Edinburgh and Manchester. Dishoom pays homage to the Irani cafés and the food of all Bombay. The restaurant got a lot of rewards and it seemed very popular. I had a look at the vegan menu (see below) and the teas are super delicious. It is a little trip to Bombay and great for meeting friends who also enjoy not so super healthy options.

THE ATTENDANT

The vision of the two entrepreneurs Ryan and Bosh is simple: quality brunch cafés serving the best coffee and local, fresh, produce-driven seasonal food, – all sustainable and ethically sourced.
The restaurant was a special recommendation from a nice woman who I had a chat with. She worked at the Soho House and Attendant was her favorite restaurant in the area. All their juices and smoothies are fantastic. I was on my way to the Columbia Road Flower Market and needed something to grab’n’go. The Attendant is perfect for that! They have a fridge with all the amazing, healthy juices they offer or prepare a smoothie to go for you. It is a modern British ambience and it’s a cute ealthy spot with vegan options on the menu to hang out with your friends and family.

Check out their amazing vegan buddha bowl with jasmine rice with red quinoa, pickled red cabbage, edamame beans, cherry tomatoes, spinach, turmeric roasted chickpeas, spinach falafel, coconut tzatziki and basil oil. Another great lunch dish is the market bowl: it consists of jasmine rice with red quinoa, turmeric roasted chickpeas, garden pea smash, pickled red cabbage, cherry tomatoes, spinach, carrots, toasted mixed seeds and basil oil. For breakfast, I recommend the almond milk porridge: Oats with steamed almond milk topped with blackberry & elderflower compote, maple pumpkin seeds and agave.  And if you’re only here once, Attendant allows you to design your own dish: take two slices of toasts with your choice of toppings.
